Portfolio - Individual

Guidelines for portfolio
A portfolio is generally understood as a collection of various material and work done by you during the course. With a portfolio you will document your skills and achievements and also to help you to reflect on what you have accomplished. In your portfolio you will collect a variety of products, documents, presentations, spreadsheets, photos, artwork, mind maps, etc. In other words, in your portfolio you will collect all the material that you have produced up until Kunstenniemi.

Content of portfolio
In your portfolio you must collect material from
  • all work days (workshops) : insights, ideas, new knowledge, reflections, etc
  • all tasks you have done individually and in groups : insights, what was done, what was learned, what worked, what did not work, etc
  • information from your group meetings : what did you do, what did you accomplish, how did you work, was work effective, etc
  • reflections about different tools you have used : insights from different tools, which tools worked, which not, how did they work, for what was the tools useful, etc
  • reflections from the book you have read : insights from book, how was book applied on the innovation task, what was useful, how did you use the book, etc.

Examination
The portfolio is individual work to be handed in. In order to pass the course, you need to have the portfolio accepted. In the portfolio you will give EVIDENCE of what you have learned during the course. Your course grade is based on the portfolio.

Deadlines
Half of your portfolio needs to be completed before workshop 3, and the rest before arriving at Kunstenniemi.
You need to make your portfolio available to the coaches before you arrive at Kunstenniemi, otherwise you will not be allowed to take part in the intensive days at Kunstenniemi.

Form and layout
Your portfolio can be in any format and layout you want. The only requirement is that the portfolio MUST be in electronic form.

Internet blog

Each team creates an own blog site in Internet in the first meeting on 17th September, and sends the link of the blog to timo.linnossuo@turkuamk.fi. All blog sites will be linked to course net pages http://innostutaan.blogspot.fi/ by Timo.

Find a name to your team in the first meeting and name your blog with that name. Put also a picture of your team members or individual persons and their names in your blog. Every team member writes a short description of herself or himself in the blog.

Every team member writes in the blog every week by her or his own name. At least 50 % of the blog has to be written by single team members by their names. Another 50 % of the blog postings can be made as a group.

Blog includes:

  • Information about the tasks each person and the whole team made during the week. This includes text descriptions, photos, videos, links to other pages, literature and article references etc.

  • Each team member shows in the blog what she or he has made during the week to contribute to the team assignment.

  • Teams and individuals also provide information about the design tools they have used in each week and how the tool worked (advantages and limits of the tool) and where it might be used in. Each team member has to report the usage and advantages and limits of at least one service design tool in the blog.
  •  Also the results of the given team assignment and used design tools will be discussed in the blog each week.

Book and book report

Each team will choose a book on innovation that they will read and discuss in the group. All team members or half of the team will read the same book. Team writes down in their blog what topics they discussed and what conclusions they made, and how they could make use of the book in the innovation process. This task needs to be completed before the camp.
